2.) We are a small scale breeder so we are able to have a relationship with each of our dogs, and know them intimately. We generally maintain a pack of only 6 to 8 dogs to ensure each dog is given quality time. You will not find rows of kennels and neurotic dogs that spend their life in a wire run. You will however find dogs who regularly hike off leash on our 94 acres, swim in our pond, lay at the foot of our couch, and practice obedience in the yard with us.

3.) ALL adults are temperament titled (BH), show ranked in Europe (SG, V or VA), and obedience/protection titled (IGP). Many breeders tout breeding stock whose parents, grandparents, or even further back in lineage, are titled, but the parents are not. With Badenheath dogs, the parents of YOUR pup will have all these credential…not some distant relative. The majority of our pups come from some of the top 10 German Shepherds in the World!

4.) Established relationships with some of the best European kennels. This ensures the ability to import top quality specimens. Many other breeders can’t get access to these types of dogs.

5.) All of our breeding adults are hip/elbow certified through either the German SV, Pennhip, or OFA.

6.) All of our breeding stock is DM clear and DNA tested for genetic issues.

7.) We actually mean it when we say “Lifetime breeder support”. Unlike other breeders, who make the claim and then you are never able to get a return phone call, Badenheath prides itself in the close relationships we have with owners who actively need it. We help with training, questions, referrals, and boarding for all our dogs. You will never be alone if a training issue or question arises.

8.)We welcome visits to meet our dogs, and everyone in the family can meet ALL our dogs. You will never find a dog who has to be kept away from guests due to poor temperament.

9.) Our dogs hike daily, have time inside our home, and are exposed to young children. Our pups are given the same experiences as age allows.

10.) We offer 6 weeks of FREE AKC Puppy Preschool Classes for ALL our puppies.

11.) All of our dogs are given discounted training and boarding at our facility throughout their lives.

12.) We actively research our breeding pairs for structure, health, and lineage. Badenheath dogs in EVERY generation are titled, show ranked, and health tested. You will never find dogs who are bred simply because they look nice, are sweet, or are a male/female. We can tell you specifically why we have chosen pairings and what attributes each dog has. Every breeder should be able to analyze the structure, faults, generational health, and temperament of their dogs. If they cannot, then they are pairing dogs without the needed breed standard knowledge required to produce the absolute best companions and representations of the breed. Breeding a dog because he is “a good boy”, because he is “a great color”, or because “I own him” are not valid or ethical reasons.
